This morning Gene left for a four day trip to Kentucky for the Together for the Gospel conference. While it's sad to see him go away for four days, I know that he'll come back more aware of God's grace and His glorious gospel...which will have an impact on the way he leads our family. It's always good for us to have breaks away from each other because it reminds us of how much we love being together. :)
BUT, needless to say, I was freshly reminded of this post from Ordinary Mother that I read in 2008 about other wives who also sent their husbands to Together for the Gospel and are sacrificing by caring for the kids while being Apart for the Gospel.
It's been a doozy of a day already. Callan screaming when Gene got out of the car to leave. Kinsley spitting up many times this morning, including all over me right after I got dressed for the day. Callan smooshing his granola bar into a sticky, crumbly mess. Three loads of laundry tackled this morning already. And I just looked up to see Callan pouring his water all over the coffee table.
Guess it's time for me to go and continue to preach the gospel to myself as I clean up yet another mess.
