What do you want for your birthday, Callan?

Conversation at dinner tonight:

Renee: Callan, tell Daddy what you told Nana you want for your birthday.

Callan: A red ball.

Daddy:  A red ball?  Where did you see a red ball?

Callan: The other store.

Renee: (explaining) Today we went to Walmart, but yesterday we went to Target.  He saw it at the "other store" that we went to yesterday (Target).

Daddy: You want a red ball from Target?  What else do you want for your birthday?

Callan: (looking at Renee) Want for my birthday?

Renee: What else do you want for your birthday, Callan?

Callan: (thinking, and then pointing at Gene's Pepsi can) I want that.  Pepsi.

Daddy: You want Pepsi for your birthday?  Ok.  What else?

Callan: Want farmer in the dell like Hannah.

There ya have it.  An almost-3-year-old's birthday wish list.  Life is so simple at that age.  A $2.50 ball, a $.50 can of soda and a farm-themed game that his BFF got for her birthday.  I think this is all do-able.  :)
