kid-less

This week our two kids are spending some time with Nana and Grandpa in PA.  Gene is on spring break this week, and my parents graciously asked if they could take the kids for a week so we could get some much needed sleep and rest.  Gene automatically screamed, "YES!  That would be awesome to be kid-free for a week!" while I (being the mom who's used to being with her kids 24/7) more hesitantly said, "Thanks, Mom.  I'll think about it."

Well, it didn't take Gene long to convince me that I NEEDED a week off.  I think he said something along the lines of, "Babe, you need to get some rest before Baby #3 comes along.  And we both need some sleep.  If your parents are offering, then we gladly accept!"

So yesterday we drove half-way to PA to drop the kids off to my mom.  I had to coerce Callan to give me a kiss good-bye.  He was so thrilled to get to ride in Nana's car and go home to see Grandpa and Tucker.  As far as Kinsley's stranger anxiety she's been having...she jumped right into Nana's arms when she saw her and didn't let go.  So, that made it a little easier to wave good-bye out the window when they turned to go on Route 15 N and we went 15 S.  (For the record, I didn't even cry!)

Gene and I have a small trip planned for the end of the week, but for now we're enjoying getting some small house projects done that are a lot easier to do without the kids being here.  I'll be posting some of our progress on my TTT blog later...
