Date Night - Operation Watermelon Drop
Originally our Date Night this week was supposed to be playing putt putt mini golf with the Somervilles in Frederick, but we had to postpone until next week. So I was in a dilemma. What to do for Date Night tonight? Well I decided to write Renee a poem (using orangutan pics, her favorite) and from there on my way home I decided to stop at the grocery store to get flowers and maybe get another cool idea.
Well I got one! I saw a sign that read, "Watermelons $2.89." That may not seem like "an idea" to you but listen to how I brain stormed. I know that Renee likes to do crafty things, and I thought it'd be cool to do to watermelons what you'd usually do to pumpkins. You'll see in the pics to follow.
To add to this idea I decided we'd go to the Dollar Store and each spend $3 to get some props to make our watermelons more unique. Then to cap off the evening we decided to share our creations with YOU the viewer...at least two of you. So maybe even now you're headin' out to your door step, hearing a door bell and finding a special gift.
So the drop under darkness was fun, but not without casualties. Renee took a dive off some steps and did a fancy ninja roll in the street. She's okay with the help of a few band aids and some neosporin.

LOL! Thanks for our freaky melon. After being weirded out and some serious deliberation for who the melon was for in our household, we decided it was for the DeCals and I guessed it was from you guys. I know no other person that would come up with such a crazy project. =)
HAHA! We new it was you guys. Renee, you need to do a better job disguising your handwriting :) We love our Wa-Wa-Watermelon Baby. He slept very sound and enjoys being the centerpiece of our kitchen table. Thanks for adding that element of excitement to our night. -The Pembrooke Ladies
