Gene and I had off work this past Friday, so we decided to take a drive through Shenandoah National Park. This "Skyline Drive" allowed us to see the beauty that Fall brings and all the pretty colors that come with it. Along our drive through the country, we came upon many fruit stands full of freshly picked apples. Being the fruit stand fanatic that I am, I finally got Gene to stop at one so that we could fully enjoy our fall, country ride while biting into a juicy apple! I was very excited about this detour in our trip and fully enjoyed every minute of picking a 1/2 bushel of apples from the wooden bins. So, if an apple a day really DOES keep the doctor away, then Gene and I shouldn't be visiting the doctor any time in the next year.
The funny part of our apple excursion was when a full bus load of little Asian woman stopped at the apple stand, too. Gene and I got a good laugh out of watching these little enthusiastic woman literally climb up onto the wooden bins to get the type of apple they wanted. They were all pushing and shoving others aside to climb up onto the bin. Their little bag that they bought to fill with apples was overflowing and apples began to fall out of their bags and roll down the parking lot, while they started screaming and dropping their bags to run after the run-away apples. It was quite entertaining!
Here are some pictures of our day...
