First Day

My mom & dad just recently experienced a major blessing. The company my dad worked for shut down their building more than a year and a half ago, so my dad's been searching for a computer specialist job since then. The area in PA where they live is not known for needing a lot of computer savvy people. Thus the 17 month search for a job began.

This past week my dad's unemployment status ended as he was offered a job working at Bloomsburg University, the very college that my dad, sister, brother, Gene, and I attended! (For those of you who went to Bloom, my dad is now in charge of STINF...haha!) Anyway, my family has been reflecting on the faithfulness of God through this trial of my dad not having a steady job. He's been so good to my mom and dad the past year+ as they trusted in Him to provide for them. I've been encouraged many times by my dad's faith and trust in God and the way my mom supported him. I never saw my dad not say that God is good! My life motto is still the same one that my dad instilled in me growing up, "Life's not fair, but God is good!"

On a lighter note, the picture attached to this post is of my dad on his first day of work this past week...briefcase and all! (haha..isn't he the cutest?!) It's always been an on-going joke in my family of the importance of my mom taking a "first day of school" picture of all of us (each year) growing up. My sister, brother-in-law, and I all joked around last weekend saying how funny it would be if my mom really took a picture of my dad on his first day of work at BU. Well, to our enjoyment, this week we found this picture attached to our email inboxes. And the tradition lives on...
