Spring break has been great. Thursday morning Gene and I headed to the mountains of Trout Run, PA to stay with his mom for a few days. We visited most of his family which was a lot of fun. I think that we both would say that the highlight was watching his Gram bowl using his cousin's new Wii. It was hilarious. She bragged all night about how it only took her two tries to get a strike while it took the cousins all night to get the hang of it. I got to box my sister-in-law, play tennis with my hubby, and bowl with the cousins. (All in the safety of my mother-in-law's living room!)
Gene's cousin had to draw his family tree for a class project, so we listened to Gram tell all about the Huston and Brannaka ancestors. Gene had a good time talking to Gram about his background. We both have a lot of German background we found out. We also found out (as we were talking about the family tree) that some of the tree branches sometimes come too close to "crossing" at some points. At one point I think they actually do! You never know what you might find in your background when you start searching through the backgrounds of good 'ole Pennsylvanians!
Gene and I are now relaxing at my parents' house. We left the mountains of Trout Run Saturday afternoon and came here for Easter. We'll be heading back to the "city" tomorrow morning. Work starts back up on Tuesday for the both of us.
Lots more to tell you about our time here at home. We'll post pictures later....
