Well after much commotion today, my class lost to Del's class. The final results were Mr. D. 254.8 and Mr. Huston - 247.9.
I had told my students that IF they reached 250 they were locked in to throw pies and they read furiously this morning. Then because of the stipulation that if BOTH classes got 500 total points BOTH classes would get to throw pies, I added the two totals together, but I did it as follows

I intentionally didn't carry the last one, so that it would appear they hadn't made it. A few students blurted out, "We read all those books for nothing!" But then one student, one observant student, re totaled it and said I hadn't carried the one, but i assured him that my math was never wrong. He then ran to the board exclaiming while fixin my math that our combined total was in fact 502.7! The class cheered and I put up my pouty face.
So look for pictures next Thursday night or Friday, as the big, double teacher pie throwin' will take place Thursday morning, barring bad weather.
