Garden of the Gods

While we were with Shamus and Karen we were able to visit the Garden of the Gods. It is an area of the old Rockies which is being slowly worn away by wind and water.

I guess the early settlers in the area thoughts these rocks looked like giants, but after drinking some water and resting they realized they were just really cool rock formations.

There was one interesting story we learned about this really strong woman who was one of the first females in Colorado Springs. One of the local Indian chiefs wanted to trade three wives for her. But her newly married husband wouldn't part with this powerful woman.

Here's the four of us resting on a rock.

I think these were called the "Three Graces"

Here's us getting ready to explore Pike's Peak, but me being the idiot that I am forgot the camera in our car. (Pictures to follow later when I get them from Shamus)

Garden of the Gods is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been too. When my parents were living in Denver we made a trip to the park.
