Well last Friday I took my class to the National Zoo on a field trip Pete and Dave included. (For those of you who didn't see my last post, Pete only speaks Spanish and is a very big boy. Dave only speaks French and is a little "extra active". ) These two have become very good friends even though they can't really communicate with each other. Most of my funny stories will center around these two and their adventures. Here's a run down of what took place so far.
1) Dave was sharpening his pencil over the tall garbage can in my room. His sharpener fell in and as he was reaching in, he fell in upside down with only his feet sticking out. It was hilarious.
2) Some of the kids on the field trip were jumping up on this concrete wall at the zoo which was probably two feet high. Pete tried this too, but he didn't clear the wall and flipped over it. The funniest part of this moment was the fact that a family was taking a picture and caught him flipping in the background. It's hard not to laugh when a crowd at the zoo is.
3) For any of you who have been to the National Zoo you know that it's quite a hike up the back hill. Pete was exhausted and needed "agua", so we stopped at this fountain. He stuck his mouth down really close to get his H2O and it shot him in the face. Another funny moment.
4) Lastly, on the Metro Ride home Dave was standing trying to "surf" in the little area on the Metro car at the end I believe, so Pete wanted to do so too. he stood up but was not anticipating the sudden stop which caused his face to bounce off the Plexiglas.
These are just some of the mishaps so far, but I thought I'd share.
