29 Weeks: Butternut Squash

Week 29:
--Your baby is growing rapidly now. This week he weighs about 2 1/2 pounds (like a butternut squash) and is a tad over 15 inches long from head to heel.
--His muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and his head is getting bigger to accommodate his growing brain,— which is busy developing billions of neurons.
--Every day, about 200 milligrams of calcium is deposited in your baby's skeleton, which is now hardening. With this rapid growth, it's no surprise that your baby's nutritional needs reach their peak during this trimester.

Dreams:
Well, I have to say that my dreams at night are getting weirder and weirder. Two nights ago I had a dream that fo
r my baby shower Gene's aunt bought me $895 tickets to see Hannah Montana (pictured at left) in concert (something that some of my 3rd graders were talking about that day in school). Apparently my sister and Gene's cousin were all going, too. I was so furious about this because the tickets were so expensive, and Gene's aunt had bought 4 of them! I said that I wished she would have spent the money on buying us baby furniture instead. I said to my sister, "How are you going to be away from Avery for several hours without breast feeding him?" And she said, "Renee, it's Hannah Montana!"

I started telling Gene this dream when I woke up in the morning and I got as far as, "Your aunt bought me Hannah Montana tickets for my baby shower gift..." and he held up his hand and said, "That's enough. Just stop right there. This is ridiculous."
