Boxes and dancing shoes

Blogging has slowed down a bit around here due to boxes, boxes and more boxes. In between feeling nauseous, eating, resting, chasing after a 13 month old, cleaning, and taking dance lessons with Gene, I also am managing to get a few boxes packed here and there.

Oh, dance lessons, you ask???!! Yeah, I thought you might find that interesting. For Mother's Day/my birthday this year Gene signed us up for 6 dance lessons at the Kentlands. Our class focuses on the Latin dances. haha Even though Gene and I are about as white as they come, we are still having fun pretending we know how to shake our hips to the Latin music. :) Although, I think we blew our cover since Gene still hasn't figured out how to move his hips without moving his whole body, too. Last night was hilarious when he just starting shaking all over while trying to lead me around the dance floor. I asked, "What in the world are you doing?!" He said he was just getting into the music. haha

We just finished our 2nd class last night. It's been a lot of fun. The instructor is SUPER nice. I know that this will be one of those memories that we'll be saying to our children some day, "You won't believe what your father and I did years ago!"

Last night was funny because I showed up wearing these shimmery high heeled shoes, and the instructor and her assistant both asked me if I bought new dancing shoes for the class (they seemed impressed because others in the class HAD bought real dancing shoes). I said that I hadn't bought new shoes but had instead dug these old bridesmaid shoes out of the bottom of my closet. At least I'm getting 6 more wears out of these things!
