My lovely Mother's Day began when we were driving up to PA to visit our families Friday night. We were 30 minutes into our drive north when Callan threw up twice all over him and his car seat. I pulled over to the side of the busy highway. About 1/10th of a mile behind us another car pulled over and threw up, too. Gene got Callan out of his car seat and began to clean up the mess while instructing me to change him and take him away so that I wouldn't throw up, too. (This is the first time he's thrown up and Gene didn't know how I would react. I'm proud to say I passed with flying colors!)
While I was changing Callan on the side of the road, he threw up a 3rd time. I undressed him again and now was holding him in just a blanket along side the busy road while a very pale 13 month old cuddled up into his mommy's arms and wanted to sleep. Gene screamed something to me over the noise of the cars about finding a tick on his leg so I should be careful not to get Callan close to the grass.
About 20 minutes later we were on our way back home to clean the puke smell out of our car and put our son to bed. We stopped at Panera while Gene quickly ran to get us some dinner....and Callan puked a 4th time.
We got home, put the boy to bed (it's so sad to see a sick baby!), and I spent the next hour scrubbing puke out of Callan's new car seat.
Fast forward....next day Callan felt better, we went to PA, visited family and spent the night at my parent's. In the middle of the night I awoke to Callan's arm on my face. Gene put the crying Callan in our bed with me while he slept on the floor beside the bed. The crying baby fell asleep, I took him to his own crib and told the husband that he had his bed back and to get off the floor. Gene looked at me and said that his side hurt. He lifted his shirt and found that a bug had bit him HARD on his side while he was on the floor.
Fast forward...next day was Mother's Day. I spent it with my family while Gene spent it in bed at my parent's house. He was so tired from staying up with a sick child two nights in a row and his bug bite was throbbing.
Fast forward....today. My mom is here visiting for a few days, Callan is back to normal, and Gene went to the dr's to get medicine for his bite.
A Mother's Day weekend to remember...

Oh my goodness... you poor thing! Brendon threw up on me several times this winter when he had the stomach flu... it is gross but you also feel so bad for them that you forget about that part. :) Hope you have a great time with your mom!
