First time shopping for a girl...it's harder

So today I kept with the tradition of making a first day run to Toys R Us. For Callan, I had told Renee that IF we had a boy I was going to go out and get him a Tonka dumptruck like the one I had growing up. Callan loves playing with it now.

Today I went home to hang out with Callan so that my mom could come see Kinsley.

Callan and I got into the van and headed out to Toys R Us. When we got there I got him a realistic looking toy buffalo (his new favorite animal and word to say). It's good to keep him occupied while in the shopping cart.

Callan and I went into the little kids section, looking for the perfect "when I was a kid this was cool" gift. We went to the girls' section also known as the world of pink. We went passed purses and Barbies and new age Strawberry Shortcake. I was a lil out of my element I must admit.

Callan and I agreed not to get something from there, so we went back and got Kinsley a pink shirted Glo Worm and a Smurfette Village. (I can relate to both of those)

Though I AM excited about my new little girl, it is gonna take some getting used to when it comes to shopping. I not a "pink" fan.

Don't worry - Girls can enjoy the same toys as boys too. Alexandra has a basketball hoop and baseball bat (a little influence from me though!)but yeah there is alot of pink out there.

You'll get used to the pink and probably like it because it'll remind you of your little girl.

Girls are as much fun as boys are - even for daddies. :-) You can make her play with just about anything. My dad was fond of giving me matchbox cars to play with as a kid.
