bringing in the new year

Being a new family of four (with two kiddos under 2), we didn't have any plans for new year's eve. Then at the last minute, we ended up with two couples over for a small new year's eve party. It was so much fun!

Callan was more than happy to have Noah over to play with.
He loves to follow Noah around and do everything that he does.

My husband is known for coming up with some "less than smart" ideas. Brent and Jen brought over some champagne. Jen said this particular bottle is really hard to get open without it shooting all over the place. So, Gene told Brent to hold the pan over the bottle to shield the top from bolting off, and...

...when that didn't work, Gene decided to try to bite the top off. Luckily it didn't shoot into his mouth and out his nose. :) I said I was seconds away from bringing in the New Year in the ER with my husband with a cork stuck in his throat!
