Where's Mommy's sin?

We've been trying to find fun ways to teach Callan the gospel. We had heard of someone using their child's five fingers to help them recite the gospel. They point to each finger (starting with the thumb and ending with the pinky finger) while saying, "Jesus Died For My Sins." It's an easy way to help young children remember this short but essential truth.

This morning Gene was practicing this with Callan. He was pointing to Callan's fingers and helping him recite the words after him. I was sitting beside them, so Gene took my fingers, too, and pointed to each one while Callan practiced the phrase. He did the same with Gene's fingers....and so on. After a minute or so Callan turned to us and grabbed our pinky fingers and said, "Mommy's sin. Daddy's sin." We laughed, and Gene said, "Callan, where's Mommy's sin?" He pointed to my pinky finger. "And where's Callan's sin?" He pointed to his pinky finger. haha

It looks like he's already committed this biblical truth to memory, but we'll now have to work on teaching him that sin is found in his heart....not on his pinky finger. I love how literal kids are.
