I don't have a snapshot for today. Us Hustons are trying to recover from a long weekend. A long sleepless weekend. Gene and I have been taking turns getting up with a bouncing, energetic 8 month old in the middle of the night for the past few nights. She's teething and she's been getting over a bad cold, too.
In fact, we were all so sleepy yesterday that we put Kinsley to bed at 6:30pm, Callan was out by 6:45pm and Gene and I were out by 7:15pm! 7:15!!! The three neighborhood dogs were barking, the wind was blowing in the window, and the road outside our window was full of rushing cars...but Gene and I were oblivious to it all. All was quiet on the western front inside our home sweet home.
It was a good thing, too, because Gene and I were up from midnight until 2am with Kins again. As if all that sleep (as interrupted as it was) wasn't good enough, I also snuck in an hour and a half nap today! It was desperately needed. This Mama has been going full speed for a while now and finally crashed today. It feels good to crash. But it feels even better to get up after crashing and feel refreshed and ready to serve your family again.
