Jonah & the "whale"

Callan: "Look, Mommy! It's Jonah! He's in the fishie's jaw."

(I know it's hard to see in these pics, but the object on the left looks just like a whale. I think he drew it by accident. I don't really think he can draw a whale that well yet...or maybe he can.)

We've been working on having Callan memorize a verse from Jonah 2:1, "Jonah prayed to the Lord from the belly of the fish (whale)." He LOVES sarcasm (wonder who he gets that from) and will often recite the verse to us like this: "Jonah prayed to the Lord from the belly of the shark." When he says "shark," he looks at us with a sly smile 'cause he knows he's pulling our leg. Gene always comments that Callan gets sarcasm better than Gene's 4th graders do. He loves to make a joke and say something out of context just to see if you're listening.

I don't have my hands full at all raising this boy. Nope, not at all...

(See...Mommy can be sarcastic, too!)
