Reptiland with Grandpa

Grandpa had an awesome idea. A holiday "man day". We were going to Reptiland in Pennsylvania. I hadn't been there since I was about 9. It ended up being just Callan, Grandpa, and I because cousin Avery wasn't feeling well. I showed Callan a youtube video the night before going and they showed "Mr. Sniffles" a bearded dragon that was head banging. Sadly, Mr. Sniffles wasn't feeling bebopy when we saw him, although Callan tried and tried to show Mr. Sniffles how to bob his head.

When we first arrived they gave Callan a turtle stamp which he was careful to keep safe.

We went to a "show" first where we got to see some real life things. Callan got to pet an alligator, which Callan was happy to do. The staff was very interactive and we got to do a lot of things.
Callan was a little more reluctant to touch the boa constrictor though he did stick out his tongue a lot at it.
After petting the animal, one of the zookeepers offered to feed a crocodile for us. He fed it a dead mouse and Callan was amazed at how he ate it in three gulps.
Callan also liked telling the snakes how they should climb up the trees and come back down.
Here's a kinkajou, which was really cool, but Callan was really excited to find out it was related to the raccoon. He called it the raccoon's cousin.
Although it was about 25 degrees we found some emus outside and were able to feed them some grain.
Callan enjoyed my favorite reptile; the alligator snapping turtle. It was the most hyper A.S.T. I've ever seen. Callan gave it the a double handed high five...
...showed how to open his mouth really wide...
...and finally (my favorite shot)...how to stick out your tongue and open wide to beckon in little fish to eat.
Yes, Callan earned the ranks of Steve Irwin (Crocodile Hunter) and Crocodile Dundee today!
