Gene hung out with 4 of his college friends this past Saturday. One of his friends, "Uncle" Tom, stayed with us on Friday night. The guys were gone all day Saturday. At supper Saturday night, I had this conversation with the kids:
C: When is Daddy going to be home?
Me: Remember I told you that he would be back after supper some time. He's out with his friends.
K: It's kind of like he's on a date. Do you think they are at the bagel place? (She's been asking to go to Einstein Bagels on a Mommy-Daughter date.)
Me: That's true. It is kind of like they are on a date. But Daddy is just hanging out and having fun with all his friends. I don't think they went to eat bagels.
*Side note: For the record, I have no idea why Kins has been asking to go eat bagels or how she even knows Einstein's is a bagel place. But, she's been asking quite frequently to go. So after church on Sunday she and I went. It took her 45 minutes to eat her bagel. But she ate the whole thing, plus half a muffin. And we both loved every minute of it!
