X week

X week...

--We learned about xylophones and listened to some people play them on youtube (and colored this one).  Callan loved listening to this!

--We also made a lowercase and uppercase X using ribbon.  

--We made an x-ray with bones from here.  

--And since it was also the week of Halloween, we did some pumpkin stuff (including the below color sheet with our sight words written inside).

--Then Daddy got involved and introduced eXtinct animals to Callan and Kinsley.  Because of Callan's love of superheroes, Gene helped him make his own Captain Extinction superhero. (I think they used this website.)

--We also took a family field trip to the National Museum of Natural History in D.C.  Gene created a checklist of animals/items for Kinsley and Callan to find in the museum.  They LOVED it!  They were both really engaged, too, the whole time.  Callan was obsessed with finding all the animals on his list. 

I didn't anticipate X week being that much fun, but since Daddy introduced extinct animals this week, it turned out to be the most fun week yet!  Oh, and the kids had fun, too.  :)
