over 60 years...and the sparks still fly

My grandparents have been married for over 60 years now.  I love to just sit and observe them.   Holding hands, hugging, poking fun at each other, laughing, caring for each other...and the list goes on. 

My mom was at their house the other day, and she sat down to eat lunch at the kitchen table.  They had a small decorative rock sitting on the table that said “Be Mine”.  Mimi told her exactly when she got it, many years before for Valentine’s Day from Poppop.  He went on to say, “Yea, we sit here and I’ll turn it toward her and then the next thing I know, she’s turned it toward me.”  My mom laughed and told them they are so in love.  He said, "She is my sweetie."

Showing love can be as simple as that.

I hope Gene and I can be that cute when we're in our 90s. Happy Valentine's Day to my "Sweetie!"
