Callan turns 3!

Callan has known his birthday is coming for awhile. He has been consistently praying for a trip to Bugaboo (the Canadian themed steakhouse with talking animals) as well as everything we wants. You gotta love the birthday list of a 3 year old; red ball, cupcakes, and a bigger hockey stick. That's pretty simple. I think he's a little confused because he got up the this morning (at 4:55am) and came down the stairs. It the monitor you could hear the scraping of his balloon along the ceiling as he made his way down the stairs and into our bedroom. He whispered into my ear, "Daddy, it's my birthday". I coaxed him into bed until at least 6 or so. Unfortunately Kinsley woke up 5 minutes later, so we all headed downstairs and he opened his present and saw the poster and the picnic table we had gotten him. After opening the presents, he said, "Can we go to Bugaboo now and see the moose and buffalo and eat cupcakes?" The fact that his birthDAY spans over two days and that the party, Bugaboo and cupcake part is the next day and not actually ON his birthday confused him a little bit. It will be interesting to see what passions Callan picks up over the next year. One thing is clear a year later, he still loves buffalo...and moose!
