Well, one more Family Reunion has come and gone. Every July Gene's family meets together at his family's hunting cabin high up on the top of a mountain (it takes 20 minutes of driving S-L-O-W-L-Y on a steep dirt road to get there). I think that I heard the numbers were down this year with only around 50 or so coming. (ONLY 50...haha....I don't think that I have that many family members with BOTH sides of my family combined!) It's a great time of non-stop fun. Everyone woke-up upstairs in the cabin where it's one huge room filled with about 50 beds lined up next to each other. Next came breakfast with eggs any way you want them and greasy bacon. YUM! Then all the cousins (and a few brave aunts and uncles) gathered together for volleyball. This family shows no mercy on the volleyball court! The harder the spike the better! After that there was volleyball, and volleyball, and then (yep, you guessed it!) more volleyball. Lunch was served next with the biggest pot of fruit salad I ever saw. I think I could have fit inside the pot! Swimming in the algae filled pond filled the afternoon with a few more volleyball games before dinner. After dinner everyone gathers around to play games until we all pass out from exhaustion. Below are some pictures...of our volleyball games, of course. Until next time...
