This Monday's recipe comes from my mom's kitchen....her famous Peanut Butter Icing! Mix these couple ingredients together, slather it on a cooled chocolate cake, and dig in! It's guaranteed to be THE BEST peanut butter icing you've ever tasted...and you know how much we love Peanut Butter here at PB&J!
Ingredients:
2 unbeaten egg whites
1 tsp vanilla
4 tsp flour
4 tsp milk
1 cup shortening
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 box powdered sugar
Mix all ingredients together with a mixer, except powdered sugar. It will still be stiff, but it should begin to appear fluffy. Lastly, add the powdered sugar and mix again. Now your icing should appear fluffy and ready to spread!
*My dad and I would recommend setting aside a little icing in a tupperware dish to eat by the spoonful later.
