Have you ever taken a moment to ponder how your eating habits have changed over the years or how you got some of your tatstes in food? Well that's the topic we'll flashback to this Friday.
When I was born, Mom tells me that I was slightly lactose intolerant, so milk was not an option. Her solution to this problem would need to be something that her young son could drink that would be fortified with all of the vitamins and minerals I would need to grow big and strong. What great milk alternative would my mom turn to. Soy? Powdered milk?
No! She turned to the only reasonable alternative in a situation such as hers.....TANG. That's right. I believe this might be part of the reason that I have a sweet tooth to this day, and was definitely what led to "Tang!" being the first word I ever uttered. It's not surprising that I was slightly hyper growing up. They say that sugar can stunt a child's growth, so if there's any truth to it, I should be about 9' 8"!
Tang came and went over the years, but I'd always turn back to it's orangey goodness. Tang and I got back together during my highschool days, and as a joke (and because it's good) I used to add it to food I was eating. My most famous "creation" was the Tang cake of '96. Everyone was worried and questioned it, but there was not an unhappy person (or a piece of cake left) at the church luncheon that day I'll have you know.
Now it might not be my future son or daughter's first drink or first word, but I can guarantee that one day I too will utter my mother's infamous words, "If it's good enough for an astronaut, then it's good enough for my son."
TANG - recommended by Doctor Mom.

On an episode of the 1993 cartoon series 2 Stupid Dogs, the two wander into a spaceship looking for a block of ice cream. Another spaceship has an astronaut and a monkey inside, and the monkey says, "I think you've been drinking too much Tang."
