So here I sit, stuck at school waiting to perform for Family Math Night. We'll be staying at school until 8pm tonight teaching our kids how to add fractions. To ensure a greater turn out we've incorporated pizza, because students will do anything for food. (But then again so would I)
I tried to be super diligent tonight and get my grading done for the end of marking period, which is next Friday. Now that that is completed, I figured I dive in deep in my Antelope grad school work, but low and behold the web site is super slow, thus postponing my completion of work AND pushing back all my project deadlines until at least Monday giving me this weekend to figure out exactly what I have to do. Grad school should be an adventure because it's a lot of self prodding and teaching. To use teacher lingo, I'm more of a visual/auditory learner, and a slow reader. Add these things together and you have a "great" grad school student.
Finally, a He-man update. On his third night with us, He-man finally started getting used to us and climbing out of his cage. He's quite spunky at times and very inquisitive, but then sporadically he'll just "zone out". He'll just stand up on his hind legs and stare. I can wave my hand in front of his face without so much as a blink. I think we might have a special Chinchilla.
We found out that by feeding him in the morning and at night when we get home that already he's excited to see us. Lastly, I found out that you can teach chinchillas tricks. You can get them to beg, do a lil dance, and even back flip utilizing....dun dun dun....raisins. Apparently they're the key to chinchilla trick success. You better believe that I'll be buying raisins ASAP.
This concludes our tid bits of info. Grace and peace to ya'll.
