Pudding Snack Pack Attack

Well to start off this lovely day we had to have an hour of regular instruction, so the kids did their best to remain on task until 10am when the board said we'd be "making pies". At 10 am sharp, I pulled out the pudding snacks and the cool whip. The pie making had begun. Simultaneously, in Del's room his kids were concocting the same weaponous desserts.

I gave each student a small plastic plate, a spoon, two pudding snack containers, and when they had filled their plate with pudding I gave them a hearty topping of cool whip. While another teacher was helping me pass these things out I snuck outside and morphed into Poncho Clean Man. But as anticipated the kids booed and complained that that just wasn't fair.

At 10:15 Del and my classes lined up with their desserts and the other students yelled "Ready. Aim. Fire!" The on slot had begun. The second student who hurdled their man made pie at my struck me in the ear and I suffered from Pudding Deafness. There were many kids who flat out missed from two feet away, but there were also direct hits.

The final shots belonged to the two top readers from both classes were given a full sized real lemon mirange pie which was supposed to be hurdled at our vice principal, but sadly he had been called to a principal duty last minute. So being the sports that we were we gave those four students the option to step up and cram the pies in our faces.

To our surprise two students wanted to take their pies home to eat (of course these were boys before lunch time). But the other two had fun at point blank.

The worst part was trying to get clean. We had to take showers in the gym. But I was so bad I had to hose off out back first. My hearing was restored after flushing pudding and cool whip from my ears. While I was doing that Del had gone into the gym to ask the gym teacher where the shower was. In a worried and protective tone she stated to Del, "Sir you can't be in here. Leave or I will have to call the office." (She thought he was a homeless man who had snuck into the school.
Anyway it was a good time had by all and the students learned two invaluable lessons from all this. One: reading is rewarding and two: the math behind, how much pudding and cool whip can I eat to still have enough to hit Mr. Huston with?
