--By now, your baby weighs 3.75 pounds (pick up a large jicama) and is about 16.7 inches long, taking up a lot of space in your uterus.
--You're gaining about a pound a week and roughly half of that goes right to your baby. In fact, she'll gain a third to half of her birth weight during the next 7 weeks as she fattens up for survival outside the womb.
Thoughts from Mommy:
--For the last several weeks my back has been hurting more....but only when I SIT, not stand. (Weird, huh?) I guess that's good because I'm a teacher, and I stand all day long. I have no problem being on my feet from 7:00am-7:00pm, but as soon as I sit down to relax on the couch after dinner the pain begins. The Dr. said it's because you actually put more strain on your back when you sit than when you stand. Who knew?
--Tonight Gene and I attempted (again) to name the baby. Our list is significantly shorter than it was before, so we're getting closer. It frightens me to think that we have the responsibility to name another human being! Out of all of our disagreements, we did make one decision: the last name of our child will be Huston. :)
