My question is simple this morning, "What are you doing to celebrate this glorious holiday?"
Well my day starts off with a Denny's breakfast with a bunch of guys from my church care group. I'm presently watching the live broadcast of Punxsutawney while I write. So exciting!
Yesterday I drew a groundhog on the whiteboard. My kids yesterday were excited and confused by my excitement over this new found holiday. I proceeded to tell them all that Groundhog Day was the best holiday ever. My one boy who has only been here for one year, simply said, "Mr. Huston my third grade teacher no celebrate Groundhog Day." I acted shocked. My kid who is new this year to the United States asked me to write down what holiday was on Saturday so his uncle could explain it to him in Arabic.
Renee also got me a book entitled "Groundhog Gets a Say" which I read to them.

The time is nearing. I'm hoping for six more weeks of winter since I'm still snowdayless. so I'll add some dot dot dots and let you know what Punxsutawney Phil predicts.
..................................
Phil has just seen his shadow meaning six more weeks of winter and even more opportunities to rack up some snow days. Whoo Hoo!

I just happend to stumble upon your blog from links from some other peoples, and I saw this post about groundhogs day- I thought my family was the only one that actually celebrated this day! We have a tradition of eating pizza and lemon cookies every year on groundhogs day, and I even have a stuffed groundhog ;) when I came to college I tried to get my roommates to participate in some festivites as well! Might as well celebrate!
