Today's sonogram said we're having a......

JUST JOKING!

I had my 36 week appointment today where they do a sonogram, probably for the last time. Gene almost saw "that area" on the screen, but the technician told him to turn his eyes away just in time. She said, "Are you able to tell what you are looking at on the screen?" He said, "Yeah....I think I see some ribs there." Then she said that she was about to explore down lower so he better turn his head unless he wants to accidentally find out what the sex was. We've waited 36 weeks now. What's a few more????

My appointment was interesting today. They measured the baby to be about 37 weeks and 1 day old, while according to my due date I'm only 36 weeks and 4 days. They said that I'm still right on target and they did not change my due date. The baby's weight measured 6 lbs 14 oz, which blew me away! That's about the size that my nephew was when he was born...and I still have a few more weeks to go! Gene asked Dr. Apgar how big he'd let me get before he'd induce labor, and he said that he very rarely induces. I said, "But I'm already 6 lbs 14 oz!" And he told me that I'm perfectly in the average range, and that they could be off a pound either way with the weight (meaning the baby could really be 5 lbs 14 oz or 7 lbs 14 oz). I told him that we'll just pretend that the baby's really on the 5 lb end. haha

I was not dilated at all either, which surprised me. I don't know why it did, but I guess I expected to be "further along" because I feel like I'm just about ready to pop! It's going to be a long next few weeks...

You will soon find out that the doctors are all really guessing when it comes to anything with the size of the baby. Don't worry too much about his or her size - because the baby still has to come out one way or another! :)
