--Your baby is gaining about an ounce a day.
--The baby now weighs almost 6 pounds, like a crenshaw melon, and is more than 18 1/2 inches long.
--She's shedding most of the downy hair that covered her body, as well as the vernix caseosa, the waxy substance that protected her skin during her nine-month amniotic bath.
--Next week, your baby will be considered full-term.
--Most likely she's in a head-down position.
Thoughts from Mommy:
--The baby loves to wake me up at about 4am and not allow me to get back to sleep very easily. This is not very helpful to Gene who needs that last hour of sleep before heading off to work.
--This is my first week off of work. It's very weird being at home all day by myself, but I've managed to fill every minute of my free time so far!
--Not that this means anything, but Gene, Nana and I are all predicting an early labor. My sister went a week early as well as my mom (when she had me). We'll see!
--The baby seems to get himself/herself into some pretty interesting positions! My stomach sometimes looks like I have two softballs jutting out of either side. This freaks Gene out....and he tries to push the bulges back in, which I keep telling him does NOT feel so pleasant.
