Songs for Jokull

Some of my friends from church threw me a baby shower this weekend here in MD. I was extremely blessed by everyone's generosity and by the fun and fellowship that they planned for me. One activity that they had planned was for everyone to split up into several groups of 5 people or so. Each group was given a nursery rhyme and had to rewrite the song for Baby Huston (a.k.a. "Jokull"). They all made me laugh! One thing is for sure, they all know about my husband's love for penguins and Antarctica! Here are the songs.....

SONG #1: To the tune of "Rock-A-Bye-Baby"
(A little background for this song: It's pretty well known that Gene and I have solidified a girl's name, but are still debating about a boy's. Hence the lyrics in this song.)

Rock-A-Bye, Jokull
Are you a girl?
If you are one
Then you'll be Mommy's pearl.
If you are not
Then you won't have a name.
But don't you worry,
They'll love you just the same.

Song #2: To the tune of "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star"
Jokull, Jokull, my little star
How I'm wondering what you are.
In my belly big and low,
How I'm wondering when you'll go.
Jokull, Jokull, boy or girl?
Come on baby, rock my world!

Song #3: To the tune of "Old McDonald"
Gene and Renee had a baby,
Wa, wa, wa, wa, wa!
And with this baby they were up all night,
Wa, wa, wa, wa, wa!
With a crying here and a crying there,
Here a cry, there a cry, every where a cry, cry!
Gene and Renee had a baby,
Wa, wa, wa, wa, wa!

And on this baby it had a diaper,
Stink, stink, stink, stink, stink!
With a stink, stink here and a stink stink there,
Here a stink, there a stink, every where a stink, stink!
On this baby it had a diaper,
Stink, stink, stink, stink, stink!

Song #4: To the tune of "Mary Had a Little Lamb"
Hustons had a little boy, or a girl, twins or more!
Everywhere the baby went, baby went, baby went,
Everywhere the baby went Heman was sure to go.

They followed Gene to school one day, school one day, school one day,
They followed Gene to school one day to learn of penguins.

Penguins are from Antarctica, Antarctica, Antarctica,
Penguins are from Antarctica...baby's gonna need a snowsuit!
