Almost 2 weeks old already!

I can't believe it's almost been two weeks since this little boy came into our lives. It's been a whirlwind since April 1, but God's grace has met us every step of the way....especially during those 3am feedings! Nana (my mom) was here last week, which was a HUGE blessing. I couldn't have made it last week without her. It's always good to hear, "Oh, Renee, that's perfectly normal that Callan does ______." This week Nana has returned home to get some sleep, but Gene is off this whole week. He's been the perfect husband and daddy any wife could ever want.

Last week at Callan's first dr.'s appointment he weighed in at 7lbs 4 oz (birth weight was 7lbs 9oz). The dr. said she'd give him three weeks to get back up to his birth weight. Well, today we're proud to announce that he weighed in at 7lbs 12 oz! And if that wasn't enough of a growth spurt, he also grew an inch in length! (birth = 20.5 inches, today = 21.5 inches) The dr. said he looked GREAT and that we shouldn't wake him up to feed him anymore. He sleeps soooo well that we've had to strip him down to his bare skin to try to wake him up to get some food in his tummy, but she said that we don't have to be so concerned about feeding him every two hours. Fine by me!

I know everyone skimmed through the above paragraph so that you could get to the pictures faster. So, without further delay, check out some recent pictures of my little guy.

My mom and I got out for a walk last week...everything was in bloom and looking beautiful!

I couldn't end this post without giving my sister, Tawnee, a HUGE THANK YOU for being one of my biggest supporters through all of this. She answers all my "Mommy questions" about diapers, etc. and stayed at the hospital the night I delivered until 4:00am so that she could see me, even though she had Avery to take care of, too. I love ya, Sis! I'm so glad that you could go through all of this first so that I can turn to you to help walk me through this amazing new season. I keep asking God to give me patience like yours. You're my hero!

It's the least I could do since you allowed me to follow in your footsteps all through our childhood, doing everything first so I knew what to expect. I'm glad to be first this time and be able to teach you all the wonderful things about being a Mommy. I know you'll be a great Mom to Callan! Love ya!

Thanks for sharing the pics. Emerson had the Happy Hippo mat and loved when the flower played music! Glad to hear that you are settling into a routine. We will keep the prayers coming.
