The apostle Paul said we "wrestle" in prayer, and that "our fight is not against any physical enemy; it is against organizations and powers that are spiritual. We are up against the unseen powers that control this dark world and spiritual agents from the very headquarters of evil" (Ephesians 6:12, PHILLIPS). Seldom do we consider the nature of our opponent, and that is to his advantage. When we do recognize him for what he is, however, we have an inkling as to why prayer is so difficult. (p. 113)
I had all intentions of getting up early today, before my baby, to spend time in prayer. I set my alarm to 6:00am. However, I awoke at 6:30am to the sounds of a crying baby. For some reason my alarm never went off. I even double checked it to make sure that I really HAD set it. Yep. I did. Oh, well. It looks like I will have to "wrestle" with my busy schedule today to find another time to sneak away and pray.
