fire trucks!

This fall our playgroup decided to plan some field trips for the kids. Today we all went to the Fire Station. As soon as we got there the two fire trucks got a call and had to leave. We were able to tour the ambulance while we waited for the trucks to come back. So, we got to see the fire trucks and the ambulances. Callan was one happy boy!

I've been preparing him for this field trip all week. We've been watching videos about fire trucks, singing songs about fire trucks, singing more songs about fire trucks, and reading books about fire trucks. He's been carrying around his two fire trucks everywhere this week. He was very excited about his first field trip today...

When the fire truck came back to the station, I told Callan, "Go ahead. Go touch the red truck!" He ran over and started stroking the truck. He was so mesmerized!

...still stroking!

This hat weighed a TON! I was laughing as I took this picture because I thought Callan was going to fall over from all the weight that was on his head.

The firemen were so kind to all the kiddos. We all had a great time!

Can you imagine Callan getting to go there all the time? Emerson LOVES to visit daddy at work, he can't get enough all things firetrucks. He actually chose his Halloween costume this year, a firefighter!

I love how Callan looks so serious about the firetruck and the ambulance :o) This is serious business for the little guy!
