Serious?

Callan is in a stage where he hates to color, write, draw, trace or doodle.  This makes it pretty hard for me to do pre-school activities with him.  I'm trying my hardest to tap into his "likes" to try to reel him in.  He's REALLY into Mario, Yoshi and Luigi right now.  I made some handwriting pages with these words on them to see if I could get him to trace the letters.  After bribing him with a snack, he finally (reluctantly) traced each word once on the page.  It wasn't his finest work, but I guess it was a start.  

He was fooling around the whole time.  I kept saying, "Callan, you need to be serious for a minute in order to trace these letters and stay on the dotted line."  His response??  "Serious?  What's serious mean, Mommy?"  Yep.  My boy is pretty much never serious.  Unless of course you put a Wii controller in his hand and turn on Mario Brothers for him.  Then he's REALLY serious.
