half birthday

Today is Finn's half birthday.  18 months old today!  He must have heard that 18 months equals being a Big Boy because just last week he learned how to climb out of his crib by himself and stopped taking morning naps.  Yay.  That makes my life a lot easier.  (That was dripping with sarcasm in case you couldn't tell.)  One day he woke up, climbed out of his crib, and decided that he's done with naps in the a.m.  It wasn't a gradual thing.  Just one day he's napping, and the next day he's not.  That's how Callan was, too.  Luckily Finn still gives me long afternoon naps.  

Gosh I love those blue eyes!  Let's just all stare at them for a minute....

Don't you just want to kiss those cheeks?  

So, besides the things listed above, this boy loves:

--black beans

--doing everything his siblings do

--watching and imitating this video (especially the "nighttime, daytime" part)

--imitating Grandpa and his funny "hand tricks"

--doing puzzles

Happy 1.5 birthday, Fintan!

Sorry some of these are fuzzy.  They were devouring them so fast and demanding more while I took the pics.  I think the boys each ate 3!

smart boy

I never want to forget the moment yesterday when I was putting Finn down for a nap.  He knew that I was putting him down, so he started crying.  I held him tight and started singing to him.  When I was done singing, he started crying again.  I said, "More song?"  He started signing "more" over and over again and then laid his head back on my shoulder.  I sang the song again, and he started crying when I got to the end again.  He immediately started signing "more" again and laid his head back down.  It only took him one round to figure out that more singing meant nap time got pushed back, one song at a time.  Smart boy.  He also quickly discovered that Mama loved snuggling with him and loved singing in order to get more hugs.  Yes, smart boy.

'lil man mustache party

Once upon a time there was a little baby who was supposed to be born on August 9th.

But he decided to enter the world on August 10th.

Fast-forward one year...

Our baby boy turned into a 'lil man.  Hence, these...

And so Finn's Ma & Pa did this...

And, yes, the cake crazy parents even did this...

And then we sang a quick "Happy Birthday to you."

Blew out the lonesome flame.

Let the fun crying begin.

Oh!  Now wait a minute.  Where did this come from?

Dig in, you say?  Don't mind if I do!

Wait.  Are you sure?  Does my mommy know about this?
