Contestant Number 1

So here is my fourth grade classroom. Renee will post hers later tonight. Read on to find out some of the fascinating facts and amenities that come when you choose my room for the best over all in show.

Here is my desk, neatly organized. You see a picture of my loving wife, a map of Antarctica, four hand crafted penguins containing encouraging quotes to the students, a "marmot crossing" sign from Pikes Peak, Colorado, and a mini "South Pole" which contains slips which students get for good behavior to enter a prize raffle on Fridays. How exciting

This pic shows my neatly organized class library, one of my two brand new computers, four windows for added sunshine, and our reading small group table. Also in the upper left you can see a Garfield poster encouraging students to " Use good manners." (Always important)

And finally; if all of these great features aren't enough to sway you judges in my favor. Our class globe is tilted an extra 90 degrees to display the great continent of Antarctica. Why yes, that is The Brain from the WB classic cartoon, "Pinky and the Brain". Let's ask him which class he'll vote for.

"Are you pondering what I'm pondering...Yes...in order to take over the world you must first vote for Gene's classroom!"

Brain has spoken. I think your choice is obvious.

P.S.- For you "Pinky and the Brain" lovers out there, they just released the 22 best episodes on DVD last week. It should be awesome!

Although, Renee's classroom may have more aesthetically pleasing elements, your attention to detail is what won me over. I can't think of much more that would stimulate a young mind to learn than Garfield and the Brain.

It's the hand-crafted penguins that make the choice clear. Ok, if we're being honest...I'm voting for you because I feel bad that it's 5-1. Gotta make things interesting and give your self-esteem a little boost.
