Our CG last Tuesdays got together and we did some festive things. Renee and I made sugar cookies and way too much decorative icing, and the whole group painted them up. The sad thing about decorating cookies is that it's just not as fun as when we were kids. Everyone oohs and ahhs, and the first cookie is great, with its intricate, pains taking, time consuming detail. Then comes the second cookie which takes half as long to decorate. Looking at the pile of cookies that still need festivizing, it becomes more of an arduous chore. By the last round of cookies we were dunking them in the icing. (We had quite a few all green trees)
Another interesting part of cookie decorating as you get older is that less people eat or take the cookies home. My students were happy to polish off the extra 30 or so cookies for us. :)
Then we wanted to do something Christmasy (the real Christmasy, not so much Santa, etc.). So we picked up guesstures, the Biblical version. A hardy laugh was had by all as we watched people try to act act classics like; Moses, resurrection, breastplate of righteousness, naked, and Will's classic interpretation of a goat. You can see him below, butting our wall with his head.
