The Huston Family: Niagara Falls (Part 2)

Well, I see that Gene has already posted some pics today from our trip, but I'm procrastinating from doing my school work, so you all get a 2nd post today....

First off, let me just say what an INCREDIBLE husband I have! He not only planned this whole weekend as a gift for me, but he also had to take care of his very ill wife during the weekend. On Friday when we left I had a scratchy throat, which by Sunday had turned into a full blown cold/flu. I barely made the 9 hour drive home on Sunday because every bone in my body ached. My body kept going back and forth between extreme coldness and incredibly hot. This left my husband frantically switching the air in the car from heat to AC, back and forth for 9 long hours. Once and awhile I'd have him leave it on "heat" for too long, and he'd just give up....putting all the car windows down at once so that he could get a breath of cold air.

I'm so grateful, though, for a husband who knows me better than I know myself. He cared for me all weekend, making sure that I ate lunch each day so that I wouldn't faint, stopping at scary grocery stores to get medicine, and always keeping a water bottle nearby so that I wouldn't dehydrate....something I'm prone to do. And, of course, whenever we'd leave our hotel room for an extended period of time, he'd always ask, "Do you have a jacket? You know you'll be cold." And then I'd say, "Oh, I'll be fine." And then he'd quickly grab my jacket before the hotel door closed behind him. And wouldn't you know it....I did need it afterall!
