Happy Leif Erikson Day!
Tonight Gene had our family celebrate Leif Erikson Day by making Viking hats and watching the veggie tales movie Lyle the Kindly Viking. How did your family celebrate Leif Erikson Day today?? :)

Such an old post to find! Seems celebrating Leif hasn't caught on too much. Looking for party ideas generates...well nothing. Tomorrow we will make Swedish butter cookie Vinland flags some with Leif in runes, eat lefse, Norwegian Apple pudding, read Norse sagas, make head wreathes.....and wear our apron dresses. But I think the day is missing something. Have you managed to add to your celebration over the last 4 years? I need ideas!! :) Takk! -Solveig, 7vikings@live.com

Actually we haven't celebrated each year, so I don't have any other suggestions. I hope you had a great celebration, though!
